Chaos struck again on American soil, this time in Houston, when an ICE agent found himself fighting for his life during what’s supposed to be routine border enforcement. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, an illegal alien from Mexico, didn’t just break the law by sneaking across our border; he forced the hands of law enforcement by trying to run down an ICE agent with a car. The left likes to tell us these are “victimless crimes” and that wanting real border security makes Americans heartless. Funny, but it looks like the only real victims here are the men and women who risk their lives upholding the law.
This is exactly what happens when the border is treated like a revolving door. Illegal immigrants feel emboldened because progressive politicians and their globalist pals treat law enforcement as the enemy and criminals as martyrs. The left is more interested in virtue signaling and open borders than protecting American families. When ICE agents step in to enforce the law, they’re painted as villains by the liberal media, but no one ever mentions who gets hurt when things get out of hand — except when there’s a narrative to spin.
Let’s get real: ICE agents aren’t the bad guys. They’re doing the job our so-called leaders refuse to do. Politicians sit comfortably in their offices, far removed from the dangerous chaos on our streets. While they pander to activists and promise free benefits to everyone, agents out there are facing death because Washington refuses to fix our broken immigration system.
How many more times do Americans need to see our laws ignored before they say “enough”? How many ICE agents need to be put in harm’s way before we recognize the cost of these failed policies? The left’s obsession with open borders is getting people hurt — and it’s sending a clear message to criminals all over the world that America is open for lawlessness.
Every American has to ask: Whose side are our leaders really on? Because from where conservatives stand, it sure isn’t us.
