An ICE officer in Houston was forced to do what so many of our so-called leaders in Washington refuse to do—protect Americans from an illegal threat. On Tuesday, a Mexican national, here illegally, tried to escape a targeted ICE operation and then allegedly attempted to use his car as a weapon against the officer. Faced with danger, the ICE agent didn’t hesitate. He took control and defended himself, putting an end to the threat.
Of course, the open borders crowd will cry foul. The same leftists who let criminals and illegals roam free will call this officer a villain. But make no mistake: the real menace is a broken border and a government more interested in globalist appeasement than protecting its own citizens. The officer had seconds to act—a luxury liberal politicians enjoy from behind their iron gates and taxpayer-paid security details.
Let’s be clear about what’s happening in this country. Under the soft-handed rule of Democrat mayors and sanctuary city bureaucrats, cities like Houston have become playgrounds for lawbreakers who sneer at America’s laws. And who suffers? Everyday Americans. Imagine, for a moment, if this ICE officer hadn’t been there. Would the media be covering yet another innocent victim mowed down by a reckless illegal behind the wheel?
Time and again, the radical left has shown it cares more about illegal aliens than American families. They turn every enforcement action into a sob story, but where is their outrage when violence is unleashed on our own people? Where’s the compassion when American lives are put in danger by individuals who never should have been here in the first place?
It shouldn’t take an ICE officer facing down a moving vehicle for people to realize our border crisis is out of control. The men and women of ICE shouldn’t be vilified for doing the job politicians are too cowardly to handle. Maybe it’s time we start asking: how many more lives have to be put at risk before America’s ruling class decides to pick a side—our side?
