Democrats in Maine can’t even keep their own mess straight. Graham Platner, the so-called Senate nominee, made a big show of suspending his campaign after facing a mountain of scandals—including a rape allegation, abuse accusations, and even sporting a Nazi symbol tattoo. Yet, with all eyes watching, the guy still hasn’t bothered to officially file the paperwork to drop out. For the party that loves to claim they’re the saviors of democracy, you’d think they would at least know how to follow their own rules.
The Democratic machine is now scrambling behind the scenes, praying Platner finally signs a letter and emails it in, signature and all, before the deadline hits. If he misses it, the whole coronation of his replacement falls apart. It’s almost funny. These are the same people who want to control Americans’ health care, energy, and education, but they can’t run their own primary without tripping over their feet.
Meanwhile, the Democrat bench in Maine is lining up for the job like it’s a participation trophy raffle. Here come the left’s usual suspects—union bosses and professional activists, all hoping to ride the failing wave of progressive politics passed down by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Their answer to a scandal-plagued candidate isn’t reform or accountability—it’s just shuffling in more loyal soldiers for the radical left.
And let’s not forget: the party talking points are all about “moral leadership,” yet they had no problem cheering Platner on despite his trail of baggage—right up until public outrage forced their hands. This is the real face of the Democrat Party: full of double standards, allergic to transparency, and happy to look the other way until a scandal gets too big to ignore.
Maybe next time, Democrats will spend less time lecturing conservatives and more time screening their own candidates. But who are we kidding? This is business as usual on the left. If you can’t handle your own house, why should anyone trust you to run the country?
