Mayor Zohran Mamdani has done it again. He’s managed to insult New Yorkers everywhere—this time by erasing entire communities that built the city as we know it. His shiny new map of so-called “ethnic enclaves” is all about highlighting every immigrant group except, of course, those dreaded Europeans: Italians, Irish, Jews. The original melting pot of America? No thanks, says Mamdani. Let’s just pretend Little Italy never existed.
Little Italy wasn’t some forgettable blip on the map. It was—and still is—a symbol of how hard work and family built this city from the ground up. But when it comes to the new socialist mayor, it might as well be wiped off the face of the earth. He went out of his way to include neighborhoods like Little Palestine and Little Pakistan, but Little Italy and other European communities? Nowhere to be found. According to Mamdani, only certain histories matter. Spoiler: it’s never the ones tied to Western civilization.
Let’s be honest, this wasn’t some harmless oversight. Mamdani has a track record of rejecting Western roots. Remember, this is the same guy who demanded the removal of the Christopher Columbus statue—a proud Italian symbol. Stay woke, New York! The goal isn’t unity, it’s division. If you come from the “wrong” background, the left will erase your very existence, then say it was a “mistake.” How convenient.
What’s even worse is the blatant hypocrisy. The left loves preaching about diversity, yet here they are, banning history they don’t like. All while cozying up to activist groups and pushing an anti-American narrative at every turn. Ask any Italian-American or Irish-New Yorker—this is just the latest in a long line of slaps to the face. The message is loud and clear: your place in history doesn’t count unless it fits the radical agenda.
If New Yorkers don’t stand up and push back against this socialist rewriting of history, what’s next? Will Mamdani ban spaghetti and cannoli too? America isn’t built on erasure and shame. It’s built on the stories of every hardworking family that came here to chase the American dream—even if the left wishes they’d just disappear.
