America has election laws for a reason, yet somehow Democrats just can’t seem to follow them. The Trump administration is finally stepping up to hold Oregon’s leaders accountable for letting noncitizens end up on their voter rolls—and threatening criminal prosecution if they don’t clean up their act. After years of ignoring the rules, Oregon is now in the hot seat.
Here’s what the radical left doesn’t want you to know: the Justice Department put Oregon officials on notice that if they allow noncitizens to vote in federal elections, they could face criminal charges. It’s about time someone demanded answers for this chaos. The state had nearly 2,000 people land on their voting lists without proof of citizenship—all thanks to a so-called “automatic voter registration” program tied to the DMV. Is anyone surprised the bureaucrats in blue states can’t keep their systems straight?
Let’s not kid ourselves. Oregon’s leaders claim these voter roll errors were all just “honest mistakes.” But how do almost two thousand names slip through the cracks? And when even one person illegally votes, it undermines trust in every election. State bigwigs admitted that 43 questionable voters actually cast ballots, and their excuse? Most of them “might have” been citizens after all. That’s a little too convenient, isn’t it?
We keep hearing from the left that “no widespread fraud exists.” That’s just more smoke and mirrors trying to distract Americans from the reality. It doesn’t take millions of illegal votes to destroy faith in our democracy—the door only needs to open once for outside interests and bad actors to sneak through. Why are progressives so desperate to downplay every failure, even as their own Motor Voter scheme crumbles?
This is what happens when open-border policies collide with sloppy, woke governance. Americans deserve secure elections—not excuses, not delays, and certainly not another round of “system glitches.” Federal law is clear: illegal voting is a crime. It’s time to demand real consequences for officials who don’t take that seriously. If the left can’t manage the simple task of keeping noncitizens off the voter rolls, maybe they shouldn’t be in charge at all. How many more “mistakes” will it take before Americans put their foot down?
