The Biden administration might have finally woken up—just a little—to the blindingly obvious truth: Iran’s so-called “Supreme Leader” and his inner circle are nothing but crooks. The Treasury just slammed new sanctions on Mojtaba Khamenei’s personal moneyman, Ali Ansari, after Iran went back to its old playbook of attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz. It’s about time someone tried to slow down Iran’s elite scammers, who have been robbing their own people blind while threatening global security with impunity.
Ansari isn’t just another shady banker. He siphoned off millions from public funds, padding the pockets of regime thugs and high-ranking buddies working for Khamenei—while average Iranians get nothing but hardship. All this was happening while liberals prattled on about “diplomacy” and handed out sanctions waivers like candy at a parade. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime built a secret worldwide real estate empire and channeled cash through shell companies, shell banks, and every trick in the crook’s handbook.
These new sanctions supposedly put a wall around Ansari’s riches, blocking his U.S. assets and choking off any business for anyone dumb enough to work with him. Those Iranian exchange houses, which shuffle billions for sanctioned Iranian banks, are finally in the crosshairs too. Maybe, just maybe, this will slow down the professional money launders who have used the West’s own financial system to outmaneuver us for decades.
But let’s not fool ourselves. Left-wing globalist policies made this mess possible in the first place. The so-called “experts” in DC and Brussels spent years coddling Tehran, ignoring the Revolutionary Guard’s crimes, and pretending that negotiating with terrorist regimes would lead to peace. Instead, all it did was empower regime elites to stash more loot overseas while threatening our Navy and menacing international commerce. Funny how the only ones who ever really suffered under these progressive pipe dreams were regular Iranians—and American families who get slammed by rising prices at the pump every time Iran acts up.
Of course, it shouldn’t take another round of Iranian attacks or corrupt shell games to remind U.S. leaders what real leadership is supposed to look like. It’s time to stop caving to the woke crowd who would rather virtue-signal than actually stand up to evil. The world’s most dangerous regime is run by thieves and killers, not misunderstood negotiators. Will America ever ditch the failed appeasement and fully treat Iran’s mafia for what it is—a global threat—and stop pretending sanctions are just a box to check while the cash keeps flowing?
