Hero Pilots Honored on July Fourth Then Instantly Suspended for Daring to Show American Pride

Every year, Americans celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, family cookouts, and a celebration of our freedoms. This year on the South Carolina coast, beachgoers were treated to something even more patriotic—a breathtaking flyover from our own National Guard Apache helicopters. For a brief, glorious moment, people got to see the strength and courage that keeps our country safe. Kids waved from the waves, families cheered, and for once, it felt like our military was being honored and actually seen by the public they protect.

But leave it to bureaucrats to find a way to ruin the fun. Instead of giving these pilots a handshake or a “job well done,” what happens? The Guard suspends them. Yes, you read that right. While ordinary Americans loved seeing their tax dollars at work—real heroes soaring overhead—some pencil-pusher got offended. Suddenly, these skilled pilots are pulled from flight duty under the excuse of a “safety review.” They claim it’s not punishment, but let’s not kid ourselves. If it looks like a suspension and sounds like a suspension, it probably is one.

This is the exact kind of over-the-top, hypersensitive nonsense patriotic Americans are sick of. The left talks about supporting the troops, but what do they actually do when good men and women show a little American pride? They slap them with red tape and “routine” hand-wringing. Liberals want American heroes out of sight and out of mind—unless it’s for some woke campaign photo op. They’re more comfortable pushing gender pronouns and climate lectures than letting the country see real power on display.

Thankfully, someone actually stepped up—Secretary of War Pete Hegseth isn’t having it. He’s made it clear he won’t just stand by while these pilots get railroaded for being exactly what they’re supposed to be: bold, inspiring, and flat-out American. We need more leaders who understand that boosting morale and showing strength isn’t a “problem” to fix. It’s what makes America work. Instead, we get weak excuses and a total lack of common sense from the people who should have our warriors’ backs.

If we can’t even celebrate our own military on Independence Day, what kind of country are we becoming? Since when did flying with pride become a crime? Maybe if these pilots had been reading from progressive scripts or tossing rainbow smoke instead of exercising real patriotism, they’d get a parade. But for making Americans proud? They get benched. Let that sink in.
