Graham Platner, the darling of Maine’s far-left, just stomped out of the Senate race—but not before throwing one last temper tantrum. Instead of showing dignity or even basic respect for America, Platner closed his campaign on a note that would make radical activists proud. Profanity, anti-police outrage, and anti-Israel rants—this is what passes for leadership among Democrats these days.
Platner could have used his exit to talk about the issues facing Maine families, like the border crisis, the soaring cost of living, or rising crime. But no—he chose to insult Immigration and Customs Enforcement and align himself with a global movement that would sooner see America fail than stand strong. Apparently, standing up for our nation’s laws and for our close allies is just too much for the left.
The sad truth is, Democrats are racing each other to the fringe. Platner wasn’t pushed out for being too extreme—he was just loud about it. If you love America, if you believe in secure borders and the rule of law, the Democrat Party doesn’t want you. In fact, they want to shame you, silence you, and wave you off with vulgar language.
And here’s the kicker: as Platner exits stage left, Maine’s Secretary of State Shenna Bellows—another proud progressive—is set to replace him on the Democrat ticket. There’s no shortage of radicals ready to take his place. For the left, it’s not about public service, it’s about pushing anti-American slogans and playing to angry activists.
This is the picture of today’s Democrat Party—profanity over principle, extremism over common sense. The question Maine voters must ask is simple: do they want leaders who hate their own country, or is it time to send a message that radicalism and tantrums don’t belong in the United States Senate? America deserves better.
