When’s the last time you saw real leadership in Washington? Americans got a taste of it this week, and liberals are fuming. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth didn’t back down when bureaucracy tried to punish South Carolina’s National Guard Apache pilots for showing pure, unapologetic patriotism. These brave men flew helicopters over crowds of flag-waving families at South Carolina’s yearly “Salute from the Shore” on July Fourth. The same holiday that celebrates our nation’s freedom. Instead of being celebrated, some pencil-pushers tried grounding them for doing the very thing their uniform stands for—honoring America.
Most politicians would have thrown those pilots under the bus to please woke watchdogs, globalist elites, and whiny left-wing journalists. But not Pete Hegseth. He moved fast and put an end to this nonsense, cutting through the red tape. He knew that grounding heroes for flying over a crowd of patriots makes no sense outside a leftist fever dream. Only a liberal bureaucrat could see a problem with service members thrilling citizens during a national celebration. Maybe that’s why Democrats have always looked awkward at military parades—they just don’t get it.
Liberals love to lecture Americans about “proper” military conduct. But when it comes to supporting our troops, they’re first in line to handcuff them with petty rules and political correctness. These Apache pilots risk their lives for our freedom. Were their flights dangerous? No, they were inspiring. The crowd cheered, kids stared in awe, and people felt proud to be American—something the radical left hasn’t felt in years.
You won’t hear praise for Hegseth’s quick action on legacy news broadcasts. The mainstream media is too busy nitpicking anything that smells like traditional patriotism. But real Americans—hard-working, flag-loving, heartland folks—see this for what it is: standing up for the military, not bowing to anti-American bullies. The globalists and bureaucrats can clutch their pearls, but this country needs more leaders who act, not apologize.
If liberals had their way, every flyover would be swapped for a diversity seminar and a rainbow flag. Patriots know better. Hegseth saw the good, recognized the intention, and basically told the anti-American bureaucrats to shove it. Isn’t it about time every leader in Washington put America first like this?
