Mayor Mamdani’s so-called “immigrant enclave” map is a slap in the face to New Yorkers who built this city long before it became fashionable to wave around identity politics. The left loves to pick and choose which communities count — and which are left off the map completely. Just look at how iconic neighborhoods like Little Italy get erased. If you’re a hard-working Italian American or anyone who doesn’t fit the progressive narrative, you’re just not trendy enough for Mamdani’s version of New York.
This isn’t just a simple oversight. It’s a calculated move. The liberal elites running City Hall pretend to care about “diversity,” but their actions prove otherwise. They pump up certain communities for political clout while sidelining the Americans and immigrants who helped shape New York’s unique identity. It’s cherry-picking at its worst — a pathetic attempt to rewrite history to fit their woke agenda.
The hypocrisy is staggering. The same voices that scream about “inclusion” are busy tearing down the rich tapestry of cultures that made this city great. Where’s the outrage when traditional neighborhoods are omitted? The left loves talking about “marginalized voices,” but apparently, that doesn’t include everyone. Only the groups who play into their globalist schemes seem to matter.
Let’s face it — today’s liberals aren’t interested in preserving real American heritage. They care more about weaponizing demographics for votes and headlines. These maps and labels serve one purpose: divide us. Instead of celebrating all the hardworking immigrants, past and present, the Mayor’s team draws borders meant to fragment and control.
If progressives can so easily erase Little Italy from the story, what community do they erase next? How much longer will New Yorkers have to put up with this anti-American charade from City Hall? The truth is, you can’t build a bright future by erasing the past — no matter how hard the left tries.
