Millionaires are fleeing New York City thanks to socialist leaders and the city is spiraling

New York City, once a gleaming beacon of American ambition, is being pushed into a tailspin by the city’s radical socialists. The so-called Democratic Socialists of America, and especially politicians like Zohran Mamdani, have turned common-sense upside down. They claim to care about working families, but their real kickoff has been driving out the very people who fund the city’s schools, hospitals, and police—its millionaires.

Let’s face facts: Americans move fast. Unlike Europeans, who typically stay put, Americans aren’t afraid to pack up and find a better life. When socialists like Mamdani start punishing success and threatening to tax productive people into the ground, the folks with money don’t stick around to take the abuse. They hit the road, taking their jobs, investments, and big tax payments right along with them.

Liberals love to preach about fairness. But their version means tearing down people who worked hard and made something of themselves. They forget who actually pays for their endless handouts. Socialist policies have consequences. Every time the far-left DSA crowd passes new “equity” measures or bashes wealthy New Yorkers, another tax-paying job creator vanishes—sometimes to Texas, Florida, or anywhere with leaders who still respect hard work.

The hypocrisy is off the charts. These socialists demand more money for government programs while chasing out the only people who can pay for them. They push for higher taxes to fund their utopian schemes but end up with less money in the pot. It’s not just bad math; it’s bad for every New Yorker who depends on decent streets, schools, and city services.

Mamdani and his DSA allies are now in over their heads. Their fantasy of a worker-run paradise is falling apart as the city’s golden geese fly south. Their answer? Blame the rich, blame capitalism, and ignore their own failures. New York deserves real leadership, not anti-American class warfare dressed up as “progress.” How many more millionaires—and how many dreams—have to leave before the left wakes up?
