New York City is spiraling, and who do they have at the helm? None other than Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose latest excuse for the explosion of sexual violence would be laughable if it weren’t so painfully tone-deaf. Instead of addressing the frightening surge in reported rapes, Mamdani is busy playing word games, suggesting the numbers look bad only because the legal definition of rape is now broader. This is the best he can offer to scared New Yorkers—twist the numbers, twist the words, and hope the problem disappears.
What a slap in the face to every victim and every law-abiding citizen who expects their city’s leader to actually care. The left has spent years letting criminals roam free, gutting law enforcement, and calling it “progress.” Now that people are paying the price, it’s all about shifting blame and hiding behind legal technicalities. Maybe the mayor thinks if he redefines enough terms, voters won’t notice the blood on the streets.
The hypocrisy is breathtaking. New York’s city council talks a good game about protecting women and fighting for justice. But when push comes to shove, their own mayor dodges responsibility and shrugs off skyrocketing violent crime as if it’s some kind of statistical illusion. This is what happens when liberals put ideology ahead of reality. They are more worried about protecting their narrative than protecting the people.
Shame on the media, too, for letting Mamdani off the hook. If a conservative mayor tried to spin away a crime wave with such a flimsy excuse, the outrage would be deafening. But in the leftist fantasyland of New York, facts don’t matter—only feelings and fantasy, as long as nobody gets in the way of their globalist agenda.
Democrats love to talk about compassion and justice, but when the victims are real people on their streets, suddenly it’s all about cover-ups and excuses. How long will New Yorkers tolerate leaders who won’t even call evil by its name? The city needs a spine, not another progressive puppet offering empty words while crime rages out of control.
