Zohran Mamdani calls himself a democratic socialist, but maybe “incompetent apologist” would fit better. Here we go again—another left-wing leader refusing to take responsibility for the mess in his own backyard. Even after Morris Katz fumbled the Graham Platner disaster, Mamdani is hanging on like Katz is some kind of genius instead of a walking scandal with a résumé of red flags.
Let’s break it down. Katz’s name is poison in his own party. His candidate—Platner—crashed and burned after miserable vetting. We’re talking rape allegations, Nazi tattoos, creepy social media posts, and even a history with sleazy apps tied to the vilest corners of the internet. Instead of keeping this filth out of their so-called “progressive” movement, Katz and his team blew past warnings, tried to rush the background checks, and hired Platner anyway. The result? Platner had to slink away in disgrace. But apparently, in Mamdani’s world, that’s just business as usual.
This is what happens when the radical left runs the show: total disregard for vetting, truth, and public safety. They’re always quick to lecture America about “accountability,” but when it comes to their own circle, suddenly there’s a different set of rules. The Democratic Socialists of America love to scream about morals—until it’s time to hold their friends accountable. Katz gets exposed, and instead of facing consequences, he gets a pat on the back from the boss.
The hypocrisy is jaw-dropping. Anyone with common sense knows you don’t publicly stand by an advisor caught in something this ugly. But for Mamdani, moral clarity takes a back seat to political convenience. The left talks a big game about protecting victims and rooting out predators, but when it threatens their grip on power, it’s one big look-the-other-way.
Let’s not forget: this isn’t just about one failed campaign. It’s about an entire movement that refuses to police itself. This is the crowd preaching about “equity” and “justice,” right? Yet when their own operations collapse in scandal—over and over—they circle the wagons and cry witch hunt.
Only in New York City could a self-proclaimed socialist mayor reward incompetence and controversy with a top advisor gig. Maybe Mamdani and Katz deserve each other. But honest Americans deserve better.
Is anyone on the radical left actually fit to lead?
