The Strait of Hormuz is in chaos—again. And why? Because Washington’s so-called strategy isn’t working, and every American knows exactly who’s to blame. The political class promised strength and security, but all they’ve delivered is a mess that hits every family at the gas pump. Instead of getting tough and locking things down, we’ve got confused markets, terrified shippers, and insurance companies treating the world’s most important oil route like it’s a slot machine loaded with IEDs.
Here’s the hard truth: The elites in D.C. love to act like flexing a few warships is enough. They think sending out a couple of press releases or “limited strikes” will fix everything. They act like putting our military in harm’s way automatically calms the markets and sends Iran running for cover. They’re stuck in the past—back when America could just snap its fingers, say the word, and global commerce would fall in line. But that’s not how the world works now, especially with gutless politicians and globalist think tanks always dancing around real power.
The reality is uglier. The markets don’t care about a press conference. They care about risk—risk that goes through the roof every time a tanker is attacked or an insurance company jacks up its premiums. When ships start turning off their tracking systems and traffic slows to a crawl, it means no one believes Washington’s empty promises. The White House can say the Strait is “open” all day long, but the only people who seem to believe it are the same intellectuals who’ve bungled American foreign policy for decades.
Meanwhile, Iran sits back and grins. Tehran knows it doesn’t have to sink the Fifth Fleet or officially block the Strait. Just making the route risky and expensive is plenty. The result—higher insurance costs, expensive gasoline, delayed shipments—hits every American hard, but the politicians don’t feel a thing. The only “victory” the Beltway’s delivering is a steady squeeze on American wallets, as families fork over more for energy while Biden-administration bureaucrats keep pretending they’re in control.
The most outrageous part: this never-ending game was supposed to keep us out of Middle Eastern quagmires. Instead, the risks pile up, the costs multiply, and all we get is more of the same incompetence under new branding. America can blow up any target it wants. But it can’t buy back the confidence it threw away when it replaced iron will with press releases. When did we let our enemies set the price for our security? Maybe it’s time the “leaders” in Washington start caring as much about American families as they do about “global markets.”
