Democrat Lawmaker Caught Speeding 107 MPH Tries Outrageous Loophole to Dodge Consequences

If there’s one thing you can count on from the modern Democratic Party, it’s their mind-blowing belief that rules are only for other people. This week, New Hampshire State Representative Ellen Read gave Americans another jaw-dropping lesson in liberal entitlement. Caught driving a staggering 107 miles per hour—yes, more than double the speed limit—she did what Democrats do best: scramble for excuses and demand special treatment.

Instead of admitting to reckless, dangerous behavior, Read hid behind a centuries-old law dug up from the dusty courts of New Hampshire. According to her, politicians on their way to work at the State House are untouchable. That’s right—she’s basically saying the laws that keep regular folks safe on the highway don’t apply to her because she holds office. Forget equal justice. If you have the right political letter next to your name, you can blast down the interstate like a one-woman NASCAR and then play the victim when you get caught.

This isn’t just a one-time fluke, either. Turns out, Read was busted for speeding not once, but twice. The arrogance it takes to double down, run to the courts, and beg for these charges to disappear is off the charts. This has become the left’s new brand: ignore the rules, then demand protection when caught red-handed. And if past cases are any clue, they’ll do it all while wagging their finger at law-abiding citizens about “accountability.”

Think for a second how fast liberals line up to call out “dangerous driving” and “reckless behavior” when it suits their own agenda. But as soon as the spotlight swings back on them, suddenly ancient, out-of-touch rules are revived to protect their precious seats of power. This is how the game is played: special privileges for the elite, lectures and punishment for everyone else.

Americans have had enough. Working families and taxpayers know that if they tried to pull a stunt like this, they’d get slammed with fines or maybe even worse. Why should a state legislator get to hide from the laws designed to keep our roads—and our kids—safe? It seems like every week, voters get another reminder of how deep Democratic hypocrisy runs. At this point, is there any bad idea the left won’t defend, so long as it keeps them one step ahead of everyone else who just wants fairness and common sense?
