Thanks to the reckless tinkering of politicians like Zohran Mamdani, rent in NYC is shattering records. The so-called “solutions” from the radical left have done nothing but drive the American dream out of reach for regular, hard-working people.
Just look at Manhattan and Brooklyn—median rent in Manhattan has exploded to over $5,200. In Brooklyn, it’s the highest it’s ever been. Who can actually afford to live there now? Not your average school teacher or first responder, that’s for sure. This is what happens when government meddling and empty promises replace real-world common sense.
The same liberals crying about “affordable housing” are the ones inviting chaos. Their refusal to tackle surging immigration has swamped the housing market with more demand than ever. Instead of prioritizing American families, they’re bending over backwards for globalist interests and open-border activists. The result? Skyrocketing rents, packed apartments, and no relief in sight.
While Mamdani and his friends pose for cameras and dream up new regulations, the only ones benefiting are the investor class and big landlords. Regular New Yorkers? They’re getting evicted, priced out, or forced into smaller and smaller spaces. The hypocrisy is off the charts—these so-called champions of the people are making it harder and harder for the people to actually live here.
It’s time to call this what it is: Liberal incompetence at work. New Yorkers deserve real leaders who put Americans and their families first. Maybe if the left spent less time chasing utopian fantasies and more time facing reality, folks could actually afford to stay in the city they love. Until then—how high can rent go before even the liberals can’t afford their own mess?
