Ro Khanna’s Israel Antics Make Jussie Smollett Look Like a Saint in Political Stunt Gone Wrong

Ro Khanna’s Israel Stunt Makes Jussie Smollett Look Honest

The left never misses a chance to turn real-world tragedy into their own political theater, and this week we got another classic example from backbench Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna. He probably thought this would be his big moment on the world stage. Instead, he managed to show that liberal grandstanding knows no shame—or facts.

Who even is Ro Khanna? Hardly anyone outside of Silicon Valley could pick this guy out of a lineup. Yet here he is, rushing to announce his 2028 presidential run before anyone asked. And how does he launch his campaign? By trying to stage a viral anti-Israel spectacle in the middle of a war zone, sneaking into a restricted area in Israel without so much as a courtesy call to local officials. Not only is that reckless, it’s downright disrespectful to America’s closest ally.

Of course, Khanna wasn’t traveling alone. Had to have the “news” cameras rolling in tow, along with friendly New York Times scribes ready to spin whatever happened next into an instant sob story for woke progressives at home. But the problem with staging your own “detention at the checkpoint” moment is that people aren’t quite as stupid as radical Democrats hope. The fake drama unraveled as soon as it started: No violent standoff occurred. No “brutal” incident to latch onto. The whole plot played out more like a low-budget sequel to the infamous Jussie Smollett hoax—except even less believable.

Here’s the kicker: Ro Khanna admits he hid his intentions from Israel’s government. Why? Because he wasn’t interested in seeing the truth or hearing from Israeli families devastated by terror. He wanted the optics of “standing with Palestinians,” no matter how artificial the setup. The offer was there for him to learn about October 7 survivors, but he turned it down flat. Truth doesn’t matter when you’ve got a Twitter feed to fill and a liberal base to impress.

This is what happens when Democrats place self-promotion and identity politics above security, honesty, and America’s reputation. Why bother telling the truth, when you can use taxpayer money to stage your own political stunt abroad? Khanna’s behavior isn’t just embarrassing—it insults every American who values our alliances and expects grownups in Congress. It’s all a show for the cameras. So maybe next time, Ro Khanna should audition for a reality TV series instead of the White House. Or is pretending to be a victim the only talent these leftists have left?
