California Democrats just can’t help themselves. The state is falling apart because of leftist policies, yet their answer is always more freebies—this time, flat-out promising to hand out free electricity. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad. The Democratic front-runner for governor acts like Santa Claus with other people’s money, offering “free” power to fix a crisis his own party created.
It’s obvious what’s going on here. California liberals forced through reckless green energy schemes that made electricity prices skyrocket. Thanks to their obsession with climate change and bowing to globalist elites, regular folks can barely afford to turn on the AC. Now, since these failed policies have made energy bills unbearable, Democrats want to patch things up by waving around freebies as if that’ll solve deeper problems.
Only in Gavin Newsom’s California can a politician break the system, then expect a gold star for handing out government goodies. These big-government liberals never admit their screw-ups. Instead, they double down, pretending to be heroes for “lifting the burden”—as if they’re rescuing voters from some mysterious villain, not the consequences of their own left-wing energy experiments.
Who do they think will pay for this endless stream of “free” stuff? Everyone with a brain knows there’s no such thing as a free lunch—or free electricity. Somebody foots the bill, and it’s always the hard-working taxpayer. Democrats love to talk about fairness, but nothing is fair about government picking winners and losers, leaving families stuck with the tab for another round of socialist fantasies.
This isn’t just embarrassing. It’s a train wreck in slow motion. Maybe next, California Democrats will promise free Teslas for all, or perhaps a unicorn to ride to work. How long will voters keep falling for these cheap tricks? Maybe it’s time someone asked why folks are leaving California in droves. The answer is obvious, but the left refuses to see it.
