Trump stuns the world with plan to claim Strait of Hormuz and liberals are losing their minds

President Trump’s latest idea to claim the Strait of Hormuz as American territory is exactly the kind of bold thinking this nation needs. While weak-kneed liberals cower before global bullies, Trump steps up and shows the world that America will not be messed with. Why should we let hostile nations like Iran choke off our oil supply lines whenever they feel like flexing their muscles? The Left acts like defending Americans overseas is dangerous — but the real danger is letting America look soft.

Trump understands what’s at stake, even if globalists and their media friends pretend not to see it. The Strait of Hormuz is more than a patch of water. It’s the lifeblood of global trade and energy. Every time a rogue regime threatens this passage, Americans feel it in their wallets and at the pump. Liberals seem happy to watch OPEC and Iran hold the world hostage. Trump is one of the only leaders actually willing to call their bluff.

There are always shrill cries from the left whenever America asserts its power. They whine about “international law” and “world opinion,” as if those count for more than American lives and jobs. Where was all this concern when China steals our technology or when Iran funds terrorists? The double standard is incredible. America is expected to play by the rules, while our enemies get free passes from the United Nations and the mainstream media.

The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just some far-off issue for bureaucrats in Brussels to debate. It’s about American security. It’s about making sure our economy isn’t wrecked by foreign dictators. For years, career politicians have played nice, hoping everyone else would follow the same rules. Trump knows that bad guys don’t respect weakness — only strength.

Liberals will scream that Trump’s idea is too extreme. That’s what they always do when someone actually defends America. Standing up for this country will never be popular with CNN or the Davos crowd. But the rest of us are tired of letting America be pushed around. Maybe it’s time we stopped listening to the critics and started owning the waters that keep us strong. If the world has a problem with that, maybe they should try standing in our shoes for once.
