Liberal politicians keep boasting about their so-called “sanctuary cities.” They brag about protecting illegal immigrants, claiming it’s the “compassionate” thing to do. But who stands up for innocent Americans like Laken Riley? The answer is obvious: no one in these Democrat-run cities, that’s for sure.
Let’s get real. Laken Riley’s killer was caught in New York City half a year before her brutal murder. A former NYPD officer put handcuffs on this dangerous illegal immigrant. But thanks to leftist sanctuary policies, the city just let him walk away. No deportation. No consequences. He simply packed his bags, left New York, and headed straight for Georgia—where he took an innocent life.
This is what progressive “compassion” looks like. Victims are forgotten. Criminals become the cause célèbre. So-called leaders in New York chose to serve globalist interests and score woke points instead of doing their most basic job: keeping Americans safe. Sympathy for illegal migrants seems to matter more than the futures of young women like Laken Riley.
It gets worse. These liberal policies reward lawbreakers and punish hard-working police officers who risk their lives every day. Why bother arresting a criminal if the city is just going to release them? The system is rigged. It’s broken by design. Left-wing politicians would rather shame you as “xenophobic” than admit that blood is on their hands.
How many more Americans have to die for the left to realize their experiment has failed? How many more grieving families before the curtain drops on this dangerous charade? Sanctuary cities are not compassionate. They are cowardly and anti-American. When will the people in charge finally put citizens ahead of criminals?
