California’s leftist governor, Gavin Newsom, is at it again. This time, he’s poking his nose into Michigan. Newsom’s handlers must have told him it’s time to start laying the groundwork for a presidential run in 2028. Only in true California style, he did it his way: skipping right over Michigan’s top elected leaders, local Democrats, and anyone with real influence in the state.
Here’s a classic example of Democrat arrogance. Newsom rolls into Michigan with his Hollywood brand, thinking he can waltz past Democrats who’ve actually won elections in the Midwest. Apparently, he didn’t even bother to get in contact with Michigan’s big names. Not the governor. Not the party chair. Not even the folks who control the unions. He thinks California’s dysfunction and sky-high taxes are so cool, he doesn’t need to play by anyone else’s rules.
Democrats like to pretend they’re all about grassroots, but Newsom proves that’s just talk. He’s a pampered liberal with donors from Silicon Valley and global elites funding his ambitions. The people of Michigan should be worried. If his policies come to their state—homeless tent cities, crime out of control, bloated government—Michigan could end up looking more like San Francisco than the Midwest.
This is the ugly face of the Democrat Party: empty promises, clueless leadership, and total disrespect for the folks who do real work. Newsom’s stunt in Michigan isn’t smart. It’s clueless. He’s so wrapped up in his own ego, he can’t even figure out the basics of political respect. And if this is how he runs a campaign, imagine how he’d run the country. America doesn’t need another slick politician selling failed ideas from the West Coast.
At the end of the day, ask yourself: If Newsom can’t be bothered to listen to Michigan Democrats, do you really think he cares about anyone in flyover country? Or is he just another California liberal trying to force his failed experiment on the rest of us?
