Democrats are at it again, trying to rebrand socialism as some harmless form of capitalism with a twist. Over on national TV, Rep. Gwen Moore claimed that so-called “democratic socialists” really love the free market. The catch? They just want a few more regulations and a beefed-up safety net. Give us a break.
Let’s call this what it really is: liberal gaslighting. If you actually believe in capitalism, you don’t strangle it with mountains of regulations and government handouts. That’s like calling yourself a vegetarian because you only eat steak three times a week. They want all the flashy benefits of capitalism but none of the work, risk, or responsibility that make it successful.
Every time the left pushes for more regulations, jobs dry up and businesses head overseas. They talk about “safety nets,” but what they build are bureaucratic webs that trap people in dependence. America didn’t become the greatest nation on Earth by copying failed European models or dreaming about government-run utopias. We got here by promoting hard work, innovation, and a free market where anyone can rise.
Here’s the real deal: democratic socialists still want the government poking around in every part of your life. They claim to support America, but all they’re doing is paving the way for more government control and less personal freedom. The “market economy” they talk about isn’t the land of opportunity—it’s a playground for career politicians and bureaucrats.
If socialism is so great, why do people risk everything to come to the United States instead of socialist countries? The American Dream means success isn’t handed out by politicians. It’s earned through grit, smarts, and freedom. The left can dress up their agenda all they want, but Americans shouldn’t fall for the latest sales pitch. The only thing democratic socialists really believe in is more government, more taxes, and less freedom. When will they finally admit it?
