President Trump knows how to put America first, even when it ruffles a few feathers overseas. This weekend, he directed the Pentagon to sharply cut back on massive joint military drills with South Korea. Predictably, the left and the globalist crowd are already wringing their hands, calling it risky and dangerous—for who? The American taxpayer has been footing the bill for these endless war games, while our so-called allies enjoy a free ride and liberals cheerlead nonstop spending.
Let’s be honest: these military exercises have been the status quo for decades. Every year, tens of thousands of troops march, drill, and flex muscle in the name of “preparedness,” but what do we really get in return? More tension, more debt, and more distractions from the countless problems festering here at home. Trump’s move is the kind of leadership we never saw under Obama or the Bush dynasty—he puts America’s needs ahead of outdated agreements and bureaucratic inertia.
Of course, the left immediately attempts to spin this as being weak on national security. Remember, these are the same politicians who would rather waste our defense dollars training foreign armies than fixing our own borders. If Democrats had their way, we’d be constantly meddling overseas, propping up allies who love cashing our checks but do nothing when it comes time to defend American interests.
Globalists and career politicians can’t stand the idea of stepping back and rethinking old alliances. They’d rather keep appeasing international elites and funneling resources abroad. Trump sees this insanity for what it is. His decision marks a turning point—finally someone in power is challenging the tired formulas that benefit everyone except the American people.
Maybe it’s time our leaders stopped listening to whiny critics and foreign lobbyists, and started standing up for America’s bottom line for once. Who else but Trump has the guts to call out this nonsense and actually do something about it?
