California politicians have gone off the deep end again. As usual, they’ll do anything to keep common sense out of the voting booth. This time it’s Proposition 39, the voter ID law. All it says is what every reasonable adult already knows: Before a person votes, officials should check if they are who they say they are — and that they are actually US citizens. Apparently, that’s just too much to ask for Sacramento’s crowd of career bureaucrats and their woke friends.
Instead of supporting basic election security, the left throws a tantrum. They’re busy spreading fear, twisting facts, and crying about “voter suppression.” But let’s cut through the noise. Requiring someone to prove who they are isn’t “extreme.” It happens at the airport. It happens at banks. It happens picking up sports tickets. But for voting — the core of our democracy — California liberals act like it’s some kind of hate crime.
Why are the politicians so scared of Proposition 39? Maybe it’s because honest elections get in the way of their power games. They know if every voter has to show proof of citizenship, it’s much harder to stuff ballots, bus in non-citizens, or play games with voter rolls full of names that don’t belong there. Of course, Democrats depend on chaos and confusion. Expecting them to support transparency is like expecting a fox to guard the henhouse.
It’s wild how the same political class that wants to control what we drive, what we eat, and how we talk suddenly pretends they care about “freedom” when election security is on the table. They’re fine with demanding vaccine cards for restaurants, but say it’s “discrimination” if you ask for ID at the polls. That’s not just hypocrisy. That’s an insult to any American with half a brain.
Americans are watching, and the truth couldn’t be clearer: If you’re against voter ID, you’re probably afraid of fair elections. California voters finally have a chance this November to strike a blow for sanity, honesty, and the rule of law. So what are Sacramento big-wigs really hiding — and why are they so desperate to protect a broken system?
