While politicians try to look tough by restricting advanced chip exports to China, they completely ignore an even bigger threat – the very lifeblood of artificial intelligence: data.
Here’s what’s really going on. The same American startups trusted with building data for our top AI companies, and even our military, are cashing in by selling those exact datasets to Chinese firms. We’re talking about sensitive instruction sets that teach AI how to code, predict financial moves, and tackle cybersecurity. These aren’t random scraps of information. This is our secret sauce for American tech dominance – and it’s being shipped off to the Communist Party’s favorite corporations.
Chinese labs aren’t playing fair or starting from zero. They pool resources and buy the best, American-made datasets. By doing this, Beijing bypasses years of costly mistakes and jumps ahead in the global AI race, all bankrolled by our own $500 million-a-year innovation pipeline. China doesn’t have to gamble. They just buy what works for American defense and business, then use it to sharpen their own cyberwarfare and surveillance.
Meanwhile, American politicians and Big Tech leaders give themselves standing ovations for “outsmarting” China with chip bans. It’s a joke. The real traitors are the data merchants, raking in profits while putting U.S. interests last. This is the ugly side of globalism: a handful of millionaires selling our technological soul to the highest bidder, regardless of what it means for America’s future.
