Jeanie Buss, the boss lady of the Lakers, is reportedly slamming the brakes on any possible sale of the team. She’s making it very clear: her siblings aren’t selling off their ownership, unless she gives the green light. So much for “shared family business.” Apparently, Jeanie calls the shots, and everyone else is expected to fall in line.
This move exposes the classic double-standard liberals love to ignore. Imagine if a conservative family tried to keep a sports team in the hands of just one person. The mainstream media would be howling about “patriarchy” and “greedy billionaires.” But when it’s a self-important progressive darling like the Lakers, suddenly it’s all about “preserving legacy” and “respecting the family matriarch.”
What really stinks here is the hypocrisy. The left is always lecturing the rest of us about “fairness” and “inclusion.” But when the rich and famous circle the wagons to keep tight control, they expect everybody else to look the other way. It’s no wonder regular Americans are sick of Hollywood and its out-of-touch elites. The Lakers, just like every other playground for the coastal rich, care more about keeping power in certain hands than building something that serves the people who actually love the game.
Let’s get real. These NBA owners are obsessed with their own egos. They play by their own set of rules while lecturing the public about social justice and “equity.” The same people screaming about “fair share” don’t think twice about pulling rank to protect their own multimillion-dollar assets. It’s not about basketball. It’s about keeping the Buss empire untouched—no matter what her siblings or the fans might actually want.
Will the left ever admit their heroes are just as greedy and controlling as anyone else? Or do their rules only apply to those of us who work hard, raise families, and respect tradition? Maybe it’s time Americans stopped idolizing these arrogant figureheads—on and off the court. The Lakers saga proves once again: the ruling class will stop at nothing to keep all the power for themselves.
