NY politician blames shoplifting on biology and excuses crime ordinary Americans pay the price

Have the leftists completely lost their minds? Just when you think New York politics can’t get any worse, another so-called “leader” takes wokeness to a new low. Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher recently excused rampant shoplifting by blaming it on a so-called “biological need.” That’s right. Instead of standing up for honest, hard-working Americans, she’s making excuses for thieves.

Hard to believe, isn’t it? Apparently, when someone grabs what isn’t theirs, we’re supposed to just shrug and accept it. Next thing you know, politicians like Gallagher will be telling us that breaking the law is just a part of human nature—and that enforcing the law is somehow cruel or unfair. They want us to forget the real victims: store owners, workers, and families who watch their neighborhoods turn into playgrounds for criminals.

On the left, it’s always about defending bad behavior and blaming society, the environment, or—this time—biology. Never mind old-fashioned ideas like responsibility, self-control, or the rule of law. In this twisted worldview, shoplifters get a free pass, while the people hurt by crime are ignored or even shamed for speaking out.

But don’t be fooled. Excusing criminal acts like this is not compassion; it’s chaos. When politicians pretend that stealing is no big deal, crime explodes. Small businesses close. Prices go up for everyone. Neighborhoods rot from the inside out. Who benefits? The globalists and elites who never have to live with the consequences in the real world. They’re happy to watch society unravel—as long as their own lives stay cushy and protected.

Enough is enough. Ordinary Americans deserve leaders who respect laws and punish those who break them—not ones who coddle criminals and make excuses for society’s worst behaviors. Maybe Gallagher and her liberal buddies should try running a business in a city where shoplifters have all the rights. Or better yet, maybe they should finally ask themselves: when did blaming honest people become more important than protecting them?
