For nearly a quarter of a century, the Department of Homeland Security has stood guard, shielding Americans from the nightmares of terrorism and lawlessness. The fact that some Democrats now want to tear down that wall proves just how out of touch the left has become. They seem to have forgotten the horrors of 9/11 or, worse, they never really understood it at all. How do you erase the memory of that dark morning, when chaos and fear ruled the skies and our cities? Only liberal America could try.
Let’s get one thing straight: DHS isn’t just some bloated bureaucracy. It’s the backbone of national security. Without it, our borders would be wide open. Human traffickers, terrorists, and drug gangs would have a free pass into our neighborhoods. But leftist politicians don’t seem to care. Maybe they’re too busy virtue signaling about “compassion” while ignoring the real dangers facing American families.
Democrats pretend abolishing DHS is a solution, but what it really shows is their backward priorities. Instead of focusing on real safety threats—like the border crisis and dangerous cartels—they chase feel-good talking points that play well on cable news. They care more about winning favor with radical activist groups, globalist elite donors, and their Twitter echo chambers than about keeping Main Street USA safe.
Why would anyone with common sense want to scrap the very department that stops the next 9/11? It’s simple: they’re desperate to look “progressive,” no matter how reckless their ideas become. These politicians live in gated mansions, far from the crimes and chaos their open-border fantasies would unleash. Regular working Americans are left to pick up the pieces—and pay the price.
America doesn’t have the luxury of naïveté. Security matters. That’s why grownups are needed in Washington, not ivory-tower dreamers trying to erase history. If the left can’t even remember what happened on 9/11, how in the world can any of us trust them to prevent the next attack?
