Biden finally cracks down on foreign student job loophole but is it too little too late for Americans

The Biden administration loves to talk about “opportunity” for Americans, but here’s a shocker—they almost never deliver. For years, American college graduates have watched good jobs vanish, while foreigners with student visas swoop in and take the prize. It’s about time something changed.

Now the Department of Homeland Security is floating a new rule that—finally—puts American kids first. This rule would slap new fees on foreign nationals using the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, making it harder and more expensive for outsiders to grab opportunities meant for U.S. students. Why did it take so long? Because the left has been more worried about what the global elites and big tech want than what hard-working American students need.

For too long, the Silicon Valley billionaires and their allies in Washington have had it both ways. They talk about helping Americans, but pull every trick in the book to keep cheap foreign labor flowing, even when it hurts our own youth. The OPT program has been the backdoor for this scam—funneling in foreign students who end up as low-cost replacements for our own kids. The liberal crowd calls it “diversity.” Regular Americans call it what it is: a rigged system.

Of course, the usual crowd of globalists will cry that charging more fees is “unfair” or “xenophobic.” Funny how it’s never unfair when Americans lose jobs. Funny how the left always finds money for foreign aid, but cries poor when it comes to protecting American graduates. Why should American taxpayers and parents foot the bill while their kids are shut out from real opportunities?

This move by DHS should be just the start. If this administration actually cared about our future, they’d do a whole lot more to stop the globalist sellout of America’s youth. How many American dreams have to be crushed for liberals to wake up and put our people first? Maybe they just don’t care. Or maybe, deep down, they like the way things are—so long as it’s not their own kids fighting for a job.
