Senator Susan Collins just put on a masterclass in civics, and Maine’s Democrat hopeful, Troy Jackson, could barely keep up. Tuesday night’s debate in Portland proved one thing: the left keeps serving up weak candidates, and Collins isn’t letting them off easy.
From the start, Jackson looked confused, stumbling through answers like a lost tourist. He couldn’t defend his record. He had no vision for Maine outside the tired, recycled talking points liberals love to spew. Where were the details? Where was the leadership? Apparently, “anybody but Republican” is all Democrats require from their candidates these days.
Meanwhile, Susan Collins wiped the floor with him. She exposed his flimsy plans and put his track record under a spotlight. Collins reminded everyone just how little Jackson has accomplished and how quick he is to blame others instead of taking responsibility. Instead of hard solutions for real Mainers, Jackson seemed more interested in parroting whatever his globalist handlers told him to say.
It’s no surprise. Liberals like Jackson are great at big promises and virtue signaling, but when it’s time to defend American jobs and values, they’re nowhere to be found. They play the blame game, attack conservatives, and bow to the same elites who ship our industries overseas. These are the exact games Mainers are sick of.
The American people deserve better than this parade of empty suits. Collins showed real grit—something Democrats can’t fake, no matter how many debates they hold. Maybe next time, Democrats will put up a candidate who knows what state he’s in and what office he’s running for. But with their record, don’t hold your breath.
