There’s yet another shocking tale coming out of sunny California, where criminals seem to roam free while law-abiding Americans are left picking up the pieces. This time, a man from Temecula admitted in federal court that he conned two elderly women out of a staggering $1.8 million by pretending to care about them. He even tried to stop federal agents from catching him. Sadly, these kinds of predator scams only seem to be getting worse while our leaders stay distracted by woke politics instead of protecting our seniors.
Why does this keep happening? It’s no accident. Liberals have let personal responsibility rot away. The message from the left is clear: blame society, not the scammer. This criminal played on the trust of older Americans, who grew up in a nation where a gentleman’s word used to mean something. Now, trust has been demolished by the non-stop drumbeat of moral relativism and victimhood pushed by progressives in schools and the media.
Democrats are quick to weep for criminals and blame “systems,” but what about the actual victims? These two women lost their savings, their peace of mind—while the political class debates endless ways to defund police and make life easier for thieves. Instead of facing real consequences, crooks are slap-on-the-wrist celebrities in today’s upside-down justice system. No wonder con artists think they can get away with anything in California.
Of course, the globalist, digital age makes it easier than ever for bad actors to weave their webs. But look who they target—America’s elderly, the folks who built this country through hard work and faith. These scammers zero in on the most vulnerable, knowing there’s almost zero deterrence from the so-called “leaders” tasked with defending regular people.
If the left spent half as much energy protecting our elders as they do policing pronouns and promoting the latest social justice fad, maybe criminals would think twice before targeting grandmothers. Instead, every new case is just more proof that a culture of leniency and excuse-making only breeds more victims. How many more seniors have to be ruined before someone in Sacramento wakes up and starts standing for law and order? Or are Democrats too busy courting the next criminal voter base to bother?
