NYC mayor defends accused gang member while law-abiding citizens pay the price

Once again, the radical left has shown where their loyalty lies—and it sure isn’t with law-abiding Americans. In New York City, Mayor Zohran Mandani is bending over backward to defend an illegal immigrant, accused of gang activity, who just got shot. You’d think this was some kind of national hero, based on the way his defenders in city hall are wailing. But let’s be honest: this is a man who shouldn’t even be here. Instead of supporting the real victims—citizens who shoulder the burden of rising crime—Mandani and his allies are weeping over a gangbanger caught in his own mess.

It’s just the latest case of dangerous, upside-down priorities. Remember: “sanctuary cities” were never about safety or compassion—they’re about scoring liberal points, even as communities suffer. While hard-working New Yorkers lock their doors and fret about their families, our so-called leaders seem to care more for criminals than for the people they’re supposed to protect. Hochul and Mandani act like any criticism of illegal immigrants is hateful, but what about caring for taxpayers who follow the rules?

Why should Americans tolerate this double standard? Illegals break our laws just by being here. Add in gangs and guns, and the risk explodes. Instead of cracking down, our leaders give speeches, making excuses, warning us not to “demonize” criminals. Where’s the sympathy for the families who live with the fallout from this open-borders chaos? For liberals, the answer always seems to be “blame America first” and coddle anyone who crosses the border, no matter their record.

There’s no mystery why crime is spiraling out of control in cities like New York. When politicians reward lawlessness and punish law enforcement, the streets are no longer safe. Radical ideology trumps common sense at every turn. If you dare to point out the facts—or demand action—you’re shouted down by globalist hacks who care more about their image than their neighbors.

Americans have had enough of this insanity—and who can blame them? Real leadership means putting citizens first, not championing thugs just because they fit some progressive fantasy. When leaders like Mandani and Hochul seem more upset about a shot gangbanger than the endless violence targeting real New Yorkers, maybe it’s time for them to find a new country to “lead.” How many more victims will it take before these leftist elites admit they’ve lost control?
