The circus of political debates is in full swing, and Vermont just showed America how absurd liberal politics can get. Over in the Green Mountain State, the lieutenant governor’s race has Democrat Molly Gray going after Republican incumbent John Rodgers. The latest debate between these two made one thing crystal clear: left-wing politicians are all style, no substance.
In this debate, the candidates actually had the chance to quiz each other. It’s a format that cuts through the noise—no scripted monologues, just real questions and real answers, whether the candidates like it or not. But did Democrat Molly Gray take the opportunity to show leadership or any shred of backbone? Not a chance. Instead, she offered up the same tired Democrat talking points: more government, less accountability, and plenty of virtue-signaling for globalists and out-of-touch elites.
John Rodgers, on the other hand, stood his ground. He didn’t run from tough questions, and he certainly didn’t offer up apologies for loving his country. Rogers made it clear he’s anchored in traditional American values. Vermont deserves leaders who actually care about hard-working families—not the left’s utopian fantasies that always end in higher taxes and more government control.
What’s even more laughable is how liberals in Vermont have convinced themselves that their “progressive” agenda fixes things. They want open borders, weak law enforcement, and an economy based on feelings instead of facts. If you ask any Democrat on that stage to explain how their policies help regular Americans, you’ll wait all day. This debate made it clear: when pushed, they don’t have answers—they have rehearsed mumbo jumbo.
Vermont’s voters should wake up before it’s too late. This state, like so much of America, needs fewer globalist experiments and more common sense. One wonders how many times the left has to fail before folks finally say, “Enough.” The future of Vermont shouldn’t be a test lab for failed liberal ideas—it’s time for leadership that actually works.
