There’s no limit to what crooks will do when they see billions of government dollars up for grabs. This week, a Maryland man was slapped with an indictment for a jaw-dropping COVID-19 scam. Prosecutors say he tried to swipe a whopping $100 million through fraudulent COVID test schemes. It’s disgusting, but sadly, it’s exactly what you get when Big Government throws cash around like confetti—especially during the so-called “pandemic emergency.”
Is anyone surprised? The Biden-era free-for-all was a lawless invitation for greedy fraudsters. While hardworking taxpayers struggled, bureaucrats practically begged scam artists to help themselves, with barely any oversight. These are our tax dollars being siphoned off into the pockets of opportunists while elitist liberals drone on about “compassion” and “equity.” The only equity here is for criminals and swindlers.
How many more of these scandals have to break before the left admits that their love affair with massive unchecked spending is a nightmare? Maybe if Democrats were half as interested in protecting Americans as they are in virtue signaling about lockdowns, mask mandates, and forced jabs, this kind of fraud wouldn’t be running wild. But policing their own failures? No thanks—they’d rather just blame someone else and ask for more money.
Let’s get real: The pandemic became a golden ticket for globalist interests and big government cronies while everyday Americans paid the price. While Washington politicians and their buddies got richer, small businesses and families got punished, shut down, and left behind. This crooked COVID-test scheme is only the latest example in a mountain of liberal incompetence and total disregard for accountability.
Americans are sick of being played for fools. If Democrat leaders keep getting away with their reckless spending and zero accountability, does anyone really think this will be the last $100 million scheme on their watch?
