LA Families Now Pay More for Power Than Their Homes and Politicians Don’t Want You to Know Why

Something is seriously wrong in Los Angeles if families are paying more for electricity than for their own homes. That’s not an exaggeration—it’s the new nightmare for everyday people just trying to keep the lights on. This isn’t about leaving the AC cranked to “Arctic.” This is about basic dignity and survival, and it’s clear the political elite couldn’t care less.

Families open their mail and brace themselves for LADWP bills higher than a mortgage. Imagine working hard, scrimping and saving, only to see half your paycheck eaten up by some bloated, government-run utility. Is this the California dream, or a socialist nightmare where comfort is now a luxury? The bureaucrats claim it’s all for “climate goals” and “green energy.” Meanwhile, the regular folks are left holding the bag.

Where’s all this money going? The city loves to showboat about “sustainability” and “fighting climate change,” but when citizens demand transparency, all they get is silence. Try asking for a breakdown, and you’ll get enough red tape to wrap the Hollywood sign. Of course, politicians are quick to raise rates and slap on new fees, but they disappear faster than a Malibu sunset when asked for answers.

Let’s be clear about who’s suffering here. It’s not the tech billionaires funding liberal campaigns. It’s not the green grifters raking in tax dollars. It’s middle-class families—the backbone of America—who are getting squeezed to pay for fashionable climate schemes that don’t work. The people who built this city are being pushed out, all while Gavin Newsom and his pals lecture the country about “equity.”

California used to stand for freedom and opportunity. Now it stands for skyrocketing bills and empty promises. How much higher do these bills have to go before voters realize the so-called “progress” from these globalist policies is actually a slow-motion disaster? If this is “progress,” why does it feel like California is slipping backwards?
