Chaos is shaking Latin America, and, once again, the progressive left is nowhere to be found. Panama just got rocked by a major earthquake. Not a little tremor—the kind of quake that leaves people terrified, buildings suffering, and the globalist elites clutching their pearls as markets wobble.
It’s not just Panama. This year has been a disaster movie for Latin America. The summer brought two massive earthquakes to Venezuela, leaving thousands dead. Colombia took a big hit in August, too, with destruction that’s still being counted. All the while, the so-called international “community”—you know, the same cocktail-sipping crowd that loves to lecture Americans about compassion—barely bats an eye unless there’s some new way to bash the United States.
Let’s take a good, hard look at the facts. Earthquakes devastate lives, economies, and futures. Meanwhile, leftist governments in these countries are too busy grandstanding and blaming imaginary boogeymen instead of actually investing in infrastructure or preparing for natural disasters. Maybe if they spent less time cozying up to globalist organizations and more time building safe roads and schools, their citizens wouldn’t be left helpless when disaster strikes.
But here’s the real kicker: every time tragedy hits any country south of our border, American taxpayers are handed the bill. The liberals in DC are eager to send aid, but where is that money really going? Into the pockets of corrupt officials and bureaucrats, while the ordinary families—real, hard-working people—are left picking through the rubble.
No one wants to see innocent people suffer, but enough is enough. It’s time for America to focus on securing our own communities, shoring up our own foundations—literally and figuratively. When will the left stop playing savior to the world and start protecting Americans first? Or maybe that’s the one emergency they hope never gets fixed.
