America is facing an affordability crisis—and liberals want to make it worse. It’s the same tired playbook every time. When something costs too much, they don’t ask what’s wrong with the mountain of rules and bureaucracy crushing our economy. No, the answer is always more government. More controls. More top-down orders. And if you dare to mention that maybe the real problem is government interference, they clutch their pearls and shriek about “fairness.”
Let’s get real. The heart of the issue isn’t greedy businessmen or some mythical “market failure.” The crisis is the direct result of policies pushed by the Left for decades. Too many useless regulations. Too much red tape. Every time the government meddles with prices, housing, or healthcare, things get worse. Just look at rent controls! They sound great on paper. But every city that tries them ends up with fewer apartments and skyrocketing rents for everyone else.
Meanwhile, countries like Singapore have proven exactly what works. Unlike the U.S. — where politicians think they’re smarter than the rest of us — Singapore cuts through the nonsense. Their economy thrives because they let the market do its job. There’s trust in people’s ability to make choices—without the nanny state hanging over every decision. Maybe that’s why Singaporeans can actually afford to live in their own country, while Americans are being priced out of their hometowns, thanks to liberal do-gooders.
But don’t expect the Left to learn anything from Singapore. They refuse to face the fact that their “solutions” are a big part of the problem. They’re so blinded by ideology and globalist schemes that they ignore obvious answers right in front of them. All they know is control, control, control — even if it means families have to skip meals just to keep the lights on.
America doesn’t need another round of failed experiments from out-of-touch politicians. It needs a real free market—one where Americans, not bureaucrats, call the shots. Why should we keep listening to the same elites who created this mess in the first place? It’s time to stop letting the Left strangle our wallets and start trusting the free market for a change. How bad does it have to get before we say enough is enough?
