Hollywood’s favorite virtue signalers seem to be crumbling faster than ever. Actress Selma Blair, a staple of the entertainment elite, just got herself arrested after a violent outburst during a medical emergency on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York. Once again, one of the left’s darlings has landed herself right where the law steps in.
Isn’t it curious how quickly Tinseltown’s stars lose their high ground when the cameras are off? Blair, who spends her time lecturing everyday Americans about morality and politics, can’t even keep her own act together for the length of a cross-country flight. The privileged class prances around with their “woke” slogans, but this latest episode proves they can’t even follow the basic rules the rest of us live by.
Had this been a working-class American, the media would have painted the scene with a broad, judgmental brush. But when someone from the Hollywood inner circle melts down in public, suddenly we’re told to be sensitive, to respect privacy, to understand. The double standard is as glaring as it is infuriating. When the liberal elite slip up, their well-oiled PR machines rush into action, blaming everything except personal responsibility.
Let’s not kid ourselves — this is just another case of celebrity privilege gone wild. Blair, like so many in her crowd, benefits from a system that shields her from real consequences. The Hollywood crowd loves to talk about “justice” and “equality.” Yet, when their own end up in handcuffs, they expect sympathy instead of scrutiny.
Here’s the real question: how many more “medical emergencies” will it take before people realize the entertainment industry’s hypocrisy is out of control? Maybe it’s time for the woke crowd to clean up their own messes before preaching to the rest of America. Are these the folks we want lecturing us about right and wrong?
