Americans used to understand justice. When a soldier betrayed his country, there was a price to pay—swift, decisive, and public. For the first time in over 80 years, the U.S. Army is bringing back the firing squad, and it’s about time.
The weak left hates consequences. Liberals whine about “cruel and unusual” punishment, but what about the cruelty of letting traitors slide? What’s truly unusual is how soft we’ve gotten on those who threaten our nation from within. Decades of slaps on the wrist have created a culture where criminals scoff at authority and laugh in Lady Liberty’s face.
Other countries, especially the globalist darlings in Europe, sneer at America’s tradition of order. They demand we kneel to the altar of endless appeals and “rehabilitation.” Meanwhile, American families look around and wonder why criminals act like they own the place. Are we supposed to sit quietly while justice gets watered down? Not a chance.
Reinstituting the firing squad isn’t about bloodlust. It’s about respect for the rule of law, loyalty to your oath, and the seriousness of betraying the nation. It’s messy, sure—but freedom is messy, and so is keeping this country safe. Some sins just can’t be papered over by a coddling judge in a comfortable courtroom.
Maybe the spineless elites in Washington could learn something from the Army’s backbone. Justice isn’t pretty, but it works. If traitors know the price they’ll pay, maybe they’ll think twice. But liberals would rather coddle the criminal than protect the innocent. Whose side are they really on?
