New York has gone completely off the rails. Since President Trump’s return to the White House in January 2025, over 16,000 criminal illegal aliens in New York have been shielded from deportation. Sixteen thousand! That’s more than the population of entire small American towns. But instead of working with law enforcement to get these lawbreakers off our streets, New York Democrats stubbornly protect them. Why? Because their warped, left-wing agenda puts “sanctuary status” above the safety of everyday citizens.
Liberal leaders in Albany and New York City would rather play political games than cooperate with federal immigration officials. Their so-called compassion is just another excuse to thumb their noses at the law and side with criminals instead of victims. They refuse to hand over dangerous people who have broken the law—some of them repeat offenders—allowing them to roam free in our communities. Ordinary families pay the price, while leftist politicians pat themselves on the back.
This is what happens when globalist agendas outweigh American values. The liberals who run New York aren’t interested in keeping neighborhoods safe or upholding the rule of law. They’re more concerned with scoring virtue points from radical activists and open-borders organizations. They’re perfectly happy to put the feelings of criminal aliens ahead of the rights of legal citizens, including hardworking immigrants who played by the rules.
The hypocrisy is sickening. If an American broke the law, there wouldn’t be any sanctuary. But according to the left, illegal aliens should get a free pass, even after committing crimes on American soil. Apparently, enforcing immigration laws is only “unjust” when it doesn’t fit their progressive narrative. Meanwhile, the safety of everyday New Yorkers comes dead last.
How many more crimes, tragedies, and shattered families will it take before Democrats admit their sanctuary policies are a disaster? Liberal leaders have turned New York into a playground for criminals and a nightmare for the law-abiding. Who are they really looking out for—the people who live here, or the people who break our laws? It’s long past time to put America First and stop letting radical, anti-American politicians get away with this madness.
