It’s about time that sanctuary city politicians feel some real heat. The left loves to pretend that welcoming illegal immigrants with open arms is some noble act. They pat themselves on the back while local families pay the price. Now, House Republicans are stepping up with a plan that could finally force these reckless leaders to answer for the chaos they’ve unleashed.
For years, bleeding-heart mayors and city councils have refused to help federal authorities deal with illegal immigrants. They brag about protecting “the vulnerable,” but what about American citizens who suffer because of their weak policies? Victims of crime, drug cartels, and overcrowded housing can’t just turn a blind eye or hand out virtue-signaling press releases. Real people get hurt while liberal politicians rake in headlines.
This new Republican plan should make every sanctuary city bureaucrat nervous. If it becomes law, victims of crimes committed because of these open-border policies will finally be able to take them to court. Imagine that: a world where politicians face consequences for putting illegals ahead of the safety of their own citizens. Radical, right? Only in a nation run by left-wing elites could such basic accountability sound revolutionary.
Of course, the globalist crowd will moan and wail. They’ll scream about “diversity,” “tolerance,” and anything else they think will distract from the mess they’ve made. All while ignoring the skyrocketing crime and strain on schools, hospitals, and first responders. Liberals don’t have to worry. They live in gated communities and send their kids to private schools. It’s middle-class Americans getting steamrolled by their failed experiments.
Let’s see if sanctuary city zealots still cling to their high-and-mighty attitude when they start showing up in court. Maybe then, the so-called “progressive” crowd will remember that Americans deserve to come first. Isn’t it about time these reckless politicians pay for the mess they made?
