Tragedy struck a Georgia theme park this week, and Americans should be furious—not just heartbroken. A man plummeted to his death from the so-called “Goliath” roller coaster at Six Flags, right in front of his own son. Families visit these amusement parks searching for some simple fun, not horror. Yet time after time, what used to be bastions of American recreation have traded basic safety and personal accountability for profit-driven corner-cutting and social distractions.
Corporate amusement chains, in their endless chase for global investors and trendy image points, seem to care more about expanding their far-left marketing and “inclusive experiences” than keeping rides safe. While progressives crow about theme parks being woke utopias, fathers are literally falling out of ride seats. How many more families need to be broken before someone—anyone—holds these corporations responsible for human life?
Of course, the mainstream media will talk circles around the real issue. They’ll point fingers at “tragic accidents” and push for more government bureaucracy and meaningless regulations. What they won’t talk about is how park owners have become obsessed with ticking diversity boxes instead of hiring competent, safety-minded, all-American workers who take pride in their jobs. When leadership is more focused on rainbow flags and corporate partnerships than mechanical breakdowns, disasters are inevitable.
And where are the elected officials? Too many are busy lining their pockets and virtue-signaling on social media rather than standing up for working families. Instead of holding Big Amusement accountable, they roll out the red carpet for global brands and flashy new attractions to boost their own PR. Then, when a tragedy strikes, they quietly disappear, hiding behind empty statements and calls for more taxpayer-funded oversight.
The real disaster here isn’t just one man’s fall—it’s an entire system that’s forgotten its roots. Amusement parks used to be about old-fashioned family values, hard work, and genuine fun—not outsourcing safety for the sake of woke optics. Americans deserve better. How many more innocent lives have to be lost before we stop letting liberal incompetence and corporate greed wreck everything good in our society?
