Big Tech’s App Store Free-For-All: Why Are We Letting Silicon Valley Babysit Our Kids?
Once again, the so-called “guardians” of our children—our government and the tech giants—have dropped the ball. As a nation, we trust parents to protect their kids in the real world, but the digital playground? Apparently, that’s a wild west where Silicon Valley holds all the keys and parents are left holding the bag. Let’s not mince words: app stores are a minefield for children, and nobody in power seems to care.
Moms and dads everywhere face an impossible task. They want their kids to learn online, expand their horizons, and connect with the world. But lurking behind every download button is danger. App stores are teeming with apps targeting adults—things no child should ever see. The people who control these platforms can easily put up digital “do not enter” signs, but choose not to. Why? Because, as usual, protecting profits matters more than protecting kids. And the left, always eager to bow to corporate interests, lets it happen.
The liberals who claim to care about “the children” have been deafeningly silent on this front. They love regulation—except when it inconveniences their Big Tech donors. Every time we hear about data privacy laws or children’s rights, it’s just lip service. Meanwhile, tech companies gobble up our kids’ data, package it, and sell it to the highest bidder. The hypocrisy is off the charts. How much is a child’s innocence worth to the people salivating over globalist dollars?
Let’s be honest: these tech titans could install real age verification protections tomorrow. They have the brains and the billions. But then the ad revenue might shrink. So children’s identities get thrown on the auction block, and parents sit powerless, watching data pirates raid their families. Where is the “equity” the left screams about when it’s kids’ safety on the line?
Americans need to take the reins back from these arrogant Silicon Valley overlords. We don’t let strangers into our homes—why on earth should we let them into our children’s phones? The government needs to step up, not bend the knee. Will anyone in Washington have the backbone to force real change, or will our kids just become another line in Big Tech’s profit report?
