Once again, freedom is under attack—this time, on the streets of a so-called “public” Christmas event. In a move that should send chills down every American’s spine, city police are actually arresting people for sharing the gospel. That’s right: spreading the good news about Jesus, quietly and respectfully, on a public sidewalk, can now land you in handcuffs. What country is this, and how did we get here?
David Hoffman did what countless Americans have done throughout our history—he spoke openly about his Christian faith. But the city decided that because festival organizers had a special permit, they could silence anyone they didn’t like. So instead of the birth of Christ, the only message welcome at the town’s Christmas party was that of government control. Preaching? Not allowed. Sharing faith? Outlawed. Freedom of speech? Only if you say what the city wants to hear.
What’s even more infuriating is the hypocrisy from the Left. Every day, liberals lecture us about “inclusion,” “tolerance,” and “diversity.” But apparently, Christians are excluded from all that. When a conservative wants to exercise free speech, suddenly these so-called progressives transform into the speech police. They’re happy to march for every woke cause under the sun, but they draw the line at a man quietly talking about God on a street corner.
This is anti-American, plain and simple. The Constitution doesn’t pause for city permits or woke organizers who are allergic to religion. Our rights don’t disappear just because some bureaucrat wants a silent, sanitized celebration, scrubbed clean of anything that upsets liberal sensibilities. Forcing religious speech into some “offsite zone” is the same playbook they use to silence conservatives on college campuses and social media.
The founding fathers didn’t carve out free speech just for drag shows and climate activists. They meant for all Americans—including Christians, especially at Christmas!—to speak their minds in public. If we don’t push back, our cities will become places where only Left-wing ideas are allowed. Are we going to let globalist elites and leftist bureaucrats turn our towns into freedom-free zones?
