Here’s the kicker—auditors raised red flags about their bookkeeping in three out of those four years. Most private companies would’ve gotten the plug pulled, but apparently, woke nonprofits get a free pass.
Why? Because in liberal Washington, the rules only apply to people who care about responsibility. Government officials claim they want accountability, but when it comes to their favorite activist groups, the checkbook stays open and questions go unanswered. If you’re a hard-working American trying to run a business, one slip-up means fines and penalties. For D.C. charities with the right connections, there’s just more money, year after year.
