When you want someone to represent you in the United States Senate, you expect them to know what they’re talking about. But the people of Alaska were in for an embarrassing surprise when a Senate candidate showed up to a live debate and seemed glued to her cheat sheet like a lifeline. Instead of speaking confidently about her own record, she kept sneaking peeks at her notes—almost like she was cramming for a test she didn’t study for.
This is not what leadership looks like. This is what happens when liberal politicians are so disconnected from their own policies, they have to bring a script just to make it through a public debate. These are the same globalist-minded Democrats who want to tell everyday Americans how to live, but can’t even keep track of their own empty promises without a stack of reminders. It screams incompetence and weakness—two things we cannot afford in Washington.
It gets worse. While Alaskans are fighting for energy jobs and stronger borders, this candidate was more worried about keeping her talking points straight than actually offering real solutions. Is it any wonder why our nation’s problems keep piling up? If a politician can’t answer a straightforward question without checking her notes, how can voters trust her to stand up to the anti-American bureaucrats in D.C.?
Liberals love to preach about transparency and accountability. But when it’s their turn in the spotlight, they hide behind scripted answers and carefully crafted soundbites. This viral debate blunder is a perfect example of what happens when the left gets too comfortable relying on consultants and handlers. They forget that the real world isn’t run by a teleprompter.
Americans deserve leaders who are bold, prepared, and honest— not weak copycats who melt under a little public pressure. Maybe it’s time Alaska sends someone to the Senate who actually knows what they stand for without a cheat sheet. Or are voters supposed to believe that a notepad is all you need to run the country?
