The left just can’t handle it when their own rules work against them. Democrats are crying foul after conservative Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella threw his support behind Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a Republican powerhouse standing tall in Florida. The outrage from House Democrats reeks of panic and hypocrisy. Apparently, when a global leader speaks out for conservative Americans, it suddenly amounts to sinister “meddling.” But let’s remember, de la Espriella is a U.S. citizen. This is not interference. This is a proud American sharing his choice—just like any other voter.
Of course, Democrats remained eerily silent when foreign celebrities and governments cheer on their candidates. They’re all too happy to invite global endorsements when it’s leftist causes on the ballot. But let a conservative foreign-born leader—who happens to be a U.S. citizen—dare to express support for a Republican, and the left throws a tantrum. The double standard is glaring. The hypocrisy is off the charts.
Why are Democrats so threatened by a simple endorsement? Because they know conservative voices wherever they come from are gaining ground. They know Americans, whether native-born or naturalized, want strong borders, law and order, and traditional values. President de la Espriella is living proof that people who truly cherish freedom see right through the left’s fear-mongering and socialist schemes. That’s why his backing matters. That’s why they’re terrified.
Instead of offering real solutions, Democrats are busy inventing new rules and wild accusations—anything to distract from their failures. Inflation is running wild. The border is a mess. Crime is out of control in Democrat-run cities. But sure, let’s blame a Colombian-American leader for daring to endorse an outspoken Republican woman who actually fights for her community.
The left’s obsession with silencing dissent—even from naturalized citizens who love this country—shows just how desperate they’ve become. If Democrats spent half as much energy fixing America’s problems as they do whining about conservatives’ success, maybe the country wouldn’t be in such a mess. Here’s a question for Democrats: are you afraid of losing power, or just afraid the American people are finally waking up?
