Every year in Southern California, the Santa Ana winds barrel through Los Angeles like a warning shot from Mother Nature. Dry air. Wicked gusts. Up go the flames, out come the headlines. And what do we hear from the so-called “leaders” running LA County? Nothing but hollow promises, virtue signals, and blame-games.
After last year’s deadly fires, one would think these politicians might actually learn a thing or two. Maybe invest in common-sense fire management, like clearing brush and fixing power lines. Instead, they bow down to green radicals and globalist climate alarmists, whining about “carbon footprints” and fighting any practical solution—just to score cheap political points. They act as if controlled burns and clearing dead wood are evil, but forget they once worked just fine to keep our people safe.
Guess what? Real people are paying for this negligence. Folks lose their homes. Families evacuate, businesses shutter, and the air fills with smoke every time the wind kicks up. Meanwhile, bureaucrats pass the buck and blame “climate change” as if that’s a magic answer for their own failure. It’s always someone else’s fault, never their own lack of backbone or basic competence.
It’s not just about fire, either. Our so-called elected officials spend more time catering to international talking heads and radical interest groups than protecting tax-paying Americans. They pass endless regulations, tie up property owners with red tape, and then act surprised when deadly disasters hit. You won’t see celebrities in their gated mansions suffering. It’s ordinary people who get burned—literally and figuratively.
The Santa Ana winds aren’t new. Our parents and grandparents faced them—and managed to keep their communities safe with half the technology and none of the drama. What happened to that American spirit? Today’s “leadership” would rather blame the weather than take real action. Maybe what LA needs isn’t just better predictions or warnings, but leaders with real grit and some good old-fashioned American sense. Until then, the winds may calm down—but the incompetence keeps raging.
