The shooter at Silver Rail Elementary thought he could terrorize families and destroy lives. But what he didn’t count on was a father with guts, smarts, and a concealed carry permit.

Kaylub Giamanco isn’t a politician. He’s not some “expert” parachuting in to give lectures about gun-free zones. He’s a regular dad, just like millions across this country. He did what any red-blooded American would do: He protected his children and everyone else’s when the chips were down. While the anti-gun crowd wrings their hands and demands that law-abiding citizens disarm, men like Giamanco are actually saving lives. Who still thinks parents have to sit and wait, powerless, while their kids are put in harm’s way?

Consider the alternative. Liberals want us to believe only the government should have guns. They dream up more laws, more restrictions, all while criminals and lunatics ignore every single rule. Meanwhile, when evil comes knocking, the only thing that really stands between innocence and carnage is a good man with a weapon and the will to act. More government wouldn’t have stopped this shooter. More restrictions wouldn’t save a single student. When seconds count, minutes-long police response times just aren’t good enough.

But the usual suspects are already spinning the story. They’ll try to erase this father’s heroism or claim that more guns somehow caused the problem. Let’s be honest: This school wasn’t saved by a piece of paper or by a “gun-free zone” sign. It was rescued by a dad who refused to let his family—and yours—become another statistic. Globalist elites sitting in their gated communities can preach about confiscation all they want. Real Americans know better.

Isn’t it time we stop listening to out-of-touch politicians and smug activists with private security teams? This story proves, once again, that the Second Amendment isn’t some outdated relic. It’s the reason there are dozens of children coming home safe tonight. Maybe it’s time the left stop blaming heroes and start thanking them.
