When will California liberals finally get serious about election security? For years, conservatives have sounded the alarm about noncitizens slipping onto voter rolls and the left just rolls its eyes. But now, the Department of Justice is putting California election officials on notice: look the other way on illegal votes, and you could be prosecuted. It shouldn’t have taken a warning from federal authorities to demand what every American should expect—free and fair elections open only to citizens.
It’s frankly shocking how many blue state leaders act like enforcing election law is somehow racist or “anti-immigrant.” Guess what? Only American citizens can legally vote. That’s not complicated—it’s common sense. But California’s radical politicians prefer to pander to illegal immigrants and globalist interests instead of actually protecting the rights of real Americans.
The fact that anybody in office would allow—or worse, encourage—noncitizen voting is a slap in the face to every citizen who follows the law. California lawmakers love to talk about “democracy,” but what kind of democracy lets foreign nationals cast ballots in our elections? If our votes don’t matter, our freedom doesn’t matter. Maybe these liberal elites actually prefer it that way.
Now, the DOJ has reportedly warned that officials who ignore or enable noncitizen voting could face legal consequences. Frankly, it’s about time someone woke this state up. If lax California officials are too incompetent or politically motivated to do their jobs, they shouldn’t just get a slap on the wrist—they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
How many more warnings do these leftists need before they start protecting our elections? Californians—and all Americans—deserve a voting system that’s clean, honest, and run by people who care more about our country than woke politics. If liberals in Sacramento can’t handle that, maybe they shouldn’t be running elections at all. Or is that exactly what they want?
